Life is a song without words in which art is its beautiful air with musical notes very magnanimous. We can say that art is the cultural elite of the ethnic groups. Today we present you some original features in our art.
1. Mua roi nuoc
"Mua roi nuoc" is a performance of water puppetry where all actions and manipulations take place on and in a pool of water as trh stage. It originated in the villages of the Red River Delta in the north of Vietnam since the dynasty of King Ly (1010 - 1225) and it is considered as a cultural and spiritual speciality of Vietnam.
Mua roi nuoc is the harmony of music, specific tunes of folk song and skill of the hands of artisans. The puppets are made of wood and are controlled by puppeteers hiding behind a bamboo shade.
In the past, the water puppet shows are only performed only at parties, festivals or major events, especially they are served as an entertainment for the King's family. It often tells story about the daily life of rural Vietnamese people or the folk tales that have been passed on from generations to generations.
Today, Mua roi nuoc is a major attraction of Vietnamese tourism and indispensable show for foreign tourists. So, to preserve this special Vietnamese form of art and to present it to the world, water puppetry is widely performed in major cities like Hanoi and Saigon to serve the increasing amount of tourist visiting Vietnam.
In reality, the shows with puppets are not uncommon in the world but only in Vietnam, you can watch the puppets singing and dancing on the water.
2. Nha nhac cung dinh
Nha nhac cung dinh is the official music of the Court in the ceremonies of worship, court sessions, organized celebrations or funerals of the King and the royal family. It was recognized in 2005 as Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
For the Vietnamese, Nha Nhac Cung Dinh is consider as a method of communication between human with the God, the saints and ancestors. Behind the tunes of Nha Nhac, it is a cultural system of Vietnam in particular and that of the East in general. Nha Nhac Cung Dinh is a precious treasure of Vietnam. Its value exists eternally in the heart of the Vietnamese ethnic group.
3. Hat Boi Binh Dinh
The Hat Boi Binh Dinh is a traditional Vietnamese art which is recognized as the national intangible cultural heritage. It is a beautiful combination between reading, singing and body language. The characters of Hat Boi are divided into 2 groups, one to the right pendillon (life gate) will be alive throughout the room and one in the left pendillon (death door) will be dead while it is the characters primary or secondary.
One of the most important elements in Hat Boi is the makeup of the characters. For example, the characters with red face are faithful subjects, those with gray faces are flatterers, those with black faces are sincere people and those with green faces are ghosts.
4. Ho
Ho is a popular music of the life of people in the Mekong Delta since the ancient times . He was born of the daily activities of the inhabitants of the Mekong Delta. Then the air is often written by Ho rustic and simple words. However, Ho sometimes represents the thoughts of the singer singing time without appearing expected and are finished to a in the lyrics. It's just the soul and the nature of the singer.
Ho is used as a mean to express emotions when working of the working people. So don't be surprised if you overhear the air of Ho on the rivers and streams of the Mekong Delta.
Beside the role of entertainment, Ho is also a language of communication, that of love and also of narration. Before, girls or boys often expresses their feelings and emotions through the lyrics of Ho. With Ho, people are approaching. Thanks to Ho, it seems that the disparity of social positions, that between wealth and poverty do not exist in life. Everything is beautiful and natural.
